Troy Hourie is an interdisciplinary designer and scenographer whose work has been presented internationally. He is a member of the Métis Nation of Ontario. Trained in art history, architecture and performance design, he fuses these disciplines into an artistic practice that focuses on the body’s relationship to three-dimensional space in interaction with what it perceives. His work revolves around themes of wonder, spectator immersion and intermediality.

The superimposition of physical and ephemeral spaces with the body functions as a three-dimensional collage to immerse the viewer in a reflective position where the mind is more receptive to abstract thought and experience.

It may be a gaze, a reflection, a sculptural object that draws the viewer into an intimate immersive experience.
