Cabaret Décadanse is the natural evolution of a former adult puppet company, Soma International, founded in 1999 in Montreal by three puppeteer friends: Serge Deslauriers, Enock Turcotte and Raynald Michaud. Serge Deslauriers, the creative mind behind all the characters, created these puppets in secret. One night of laughter and alcohol, Serge Deslauriers and Enock Turcotte improvised numbers to songs. After that evening, the trio decided to present a short show as part of the 1999 edition of the Just for Laughs Festival. Cabaret Décadanse won the Audience Award, and the company immediately embarked on a world tour.

André-Anne LeBlanc joined the company in 2003. Today, André-Anne and her protégé Alexandre Iannuzzi continue to create new acts together. André-Anne LeBlanc is passionate about preserving and passing on the original spirit of Cabaret Décadanse.

Cabaret Décadanse remains synonymous with emotion, sensuality and humor, and continues to amaze audiences the world over. And although Serge is no longer touring, he is essential to the company’s ongoing creative evolution.
