Jojo, an extraordinary show masterfully handled by one of the greatest artists in the world of theater.
Who is Jojo? Jojo is an orang-utan from the forests of Borneo who was hunted down at a very young age and condemned to a life in captivity, chained and malnourished. He was finally freed after eleven years, and this rescue led to the creation of the NGO Animal Rescue, which has since helped countless animals regain their freedom. Jojo is still alive, and although he was rescued, he was never able to return to his habitat, as the years of suffering and lack of food paralyzed his body and bones. Today, he symbolizes the fight against cruelty to animals.
The Ytuquepintas company, directed by Borja González, was inspired by Jojo’s story to create this show combining live music, large-scale puppets and splendid sand illustrations.
