BCDN was founded in 2012 to give up-and-coming Saguenay dancers the opportunity to develop their careers in both choreography and performance. More than twenty artists have since created the repertoire made up of original pieces and revivals of works by choreographer Edgar Zendejas. The troupe has performed at various events and festivals and participated in the Bourse Objectif Scène, in addition to presenting its own shows and being broadcast by Diffusion Saguenay at Théâtre C (formerly Théâtre Banque Nationale).
