In Taipei, a man and a woman have a dinner party in town. They ride their scooters across town to a traditional market to buy ingredients. As they shop, the special atmosphere of the traditional market and the items unique to Taiwan bring out the taste of life in Taipei. The intimacy of the two characters develops as they prepare and cook, revealing a whimsical world of food and desire – a redemptive fable where the symbols of secret cities penetrate body and soul.
